Portrait Project
Artist's statement: My intention for this project is to give insight to the person being photographed, who in this case is my mom and capture who they are in a series of a few photos. The pictures are taken in places where she is often, or relate to her and her personality in some other way. They show who she is and you can get to know her through the photos.

Q: What is your earliest memory?
A: My earliest memory was... I was about 3.5 and i remember playing in the backyard in the summertime with my little brother Q: How is your life different than you thought it would be?
A: it's not really different. I never tried to have ideas about how my life would be. I just wanted to be happy and have a family. Q: Did you always want to own a small business?
A: not always. I don't think it was something that people really thought about when i was a kid thinking about what i wanted to be. Owning my own business was something I've thought about for the past 25 years. Q: What have you learned from your current job or any previous jobs?
A: I've learned from all my jobs because they've all entailed working with people. I've learned to at the end of the day ignore the one mean person and focus on all the nice people you encounter in a day Q: What were some of your interests when you were my age?
A: i did a lot of sports. I played three sports when i was a freshman, i played soccer, basketball and softball. I really liked music and movies and hanging out with my friends. And history i really liked my history classes in high school. |
